PASTOR JOHNSON'S 1ST SUNDAY SERMON 4.7.2019

"NO FAULT IN CREATION, IN CHOICES, IN SALVATION, IN ETERNAL LIFE

Pastor Johnson’s message came from Genesis 1:1, 26-28, Genesis 2:16-17, 3:6, 24, 6:3-8, John 3:13-16, Romans 5:14, and 1 Corinthians 15:22-23, 45-49.. The subject was “No Fault in Creation, In Choices, In Salvation, In Eternal Life” with the following subtopics:

“BLESSED CREATION”

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth. So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; make and female He created them. And God blessed them and said to them., Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subjugate it and rule over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air ad every living thing that moves upon the earth.

“HUMAN CHOICES”

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, You may freely eat from every tree of the garden but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, otherwise on the day that you eat from it, you shall most certainly die. The woman was convinced. How lovely and fresh looking it was! And it would make her so wise! So she ate some of the fruit and gave some to her husband, and he ate it too. And as they ate it, suddenly they became aware of their nakedness, and were embarrassed. So they strung fig leaves together to cover themselves around the hips. So God drove the man out; and at the east of the Garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the sword with the flashing blade which turned round and round to protect and guard the way to the tree of life. Then the Lord said My Spirit shall not strive and remain with man forever, because he is indeed flesh; nevertheless his days shall yet be a hundred and twenty years. The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every imagination or intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. The Lord regretted that He had made mankind on the earth; He was grieved in His heart. So the Lord said, I will destroy mankind whom I have created from the surface of the earth not only man, but the animals and the crawling things and the birds of the air-because it grieves Me and I regret that I have made them. But Noah found favor and grace in the eyes of the Lord.

“HE CAME TO SAVE US”

No one has gone up into heave, but there is One who came down from heaven, the Son of Man. Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. For God so loved and dearly prized the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. Yet death ruled from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned as Adam did. Adam is a type of Him who was to com but in reverse Adam brought destruction, Christ brought salvation.

“FROM PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL DEATH TO ETERNAL LIFE”

For just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, then those who are Christ’s at His coming. So it is written, the first man, Adam, became a living soul; the last Adam (Christ) became a life-giving spirit. However, the spiritual is not first, but the physical; then the spiritual. The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second Man (Christ) is from heaven. As is the earthly man, so are those who are of earth; and as is the heavenly, so are those who are of heaven. Just as we have borne the image of the earthly, we will also bear the image of the heavenly.

Read the scriptures and be blessed!
