"THE MANSION"
Pastor Johnson’s message came from John 14:1-6, Matthew 20:1-16, 1 Corinthians 15:50-53,58; and Ephesians 2:8. The topic was “The Mansion” with the following subtopics:
“Jesus Prepares For Us”
Do not let your heart be troubled. Believe in god and trust in Him, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places. If it were not so, I would have told you, because I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and I will take you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also. And where I am going, you know the way. Thomas said to Him, Lord, we do not know where You are going; so how can we know the way? Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and Life; no one come s to the Father but through Me.
“Laborers in the Vineyard”
For the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of an estate who went out in the morning at dawn to hire workmen for his vineyard. When he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius for the day, he sent them into his vineyard and he went out about the Third hour and saw others standing idle in the market place; and he said to them You also go into the vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right. And they went. He went out about the sixth hour and the ninth hour, and did the same thing. And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing around, and he said to them Why have you been standing here idle all day? They answered him, because no one hired us. He told them you go into the vineyard also. When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his manager, Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last and ending with the first. Those who had been hired at the eleventh hour came and received a denarius each. Now when the first came they thought they would get more; but each of them also received a denarius. When they received it, the protested and grumbled at the owner of the estate, saying, These men who came last worked one hour, and yet you have made them equal to us who have carried the burden and in the scorching heat of the day. But the owner of the estate replied to one of them, Friend, I am doing you no injustice. Did you not agree with me for a denarius? Take what belongs to you and go, but I choose to give to this last man the same as I give to you. Am I not lawfully permitted to do what I choose with what is mine? Or is your eye envious because I am generous? So those who are last shall be first, and those who are first, last.
“The pay for your labor”
Now I say this, believers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit nor be part of the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen very carefully, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord being continually aware that your labor in the Lord is not futile nor wasted. For it is by grace that you have been saved through faith. And this salvation is not of yourselves, but it is the gift of God.
