"KINGDOM BEHAVIOR"
Pastor Johnson’s sermon came from Luke 6:20-23, Luke 6:24-26, and Luke 6:27-38. The topic was “Kingdom Behavior” with the following subtopics:
“Being Blessed”
As a Christian we have a certain way to act so others can see Jesus in us. We should not have a spiritual arrogance (when you think you know it all and don’t need to learn anything else and never pick up the bible). Blessed are the spiritual poor which mean there is nothing special about me. I am just a person trying to make it to the kingdom and need help on my journey. Blessed are those that hunger for righteousness and hunger for God’s words. God is no respect of person. We are all the same. Blessed are those who weep over their sins. Remain a Christian and do what thus saith the Lord. You will then be able to have joy. Jesus is the only one that loves you in spite of your faults. Please Jesus and not man.
“Being Selfish”
Don’t put your hope in material things. These are temporary things given to you for a little while. Put nothing before God. Self-indulgent is satisfying the flesh with anything. It is a sin. You want to do what the flesh says to do. All of these things are destructive to you because it is against God. We should be an example to the world. Don’t lose your flavor (salt).
“Being a Christian”
Open your ears so you can see what Jesus has to say. Love you enemies. You cannot get into this kingdom with hate in your heart. You cannot hate someone of different skin color or offend anyone. Show kindness to those that curse you. Pray for those who use you and turn the other cheek. If someone takes something from you, give him more. Give (not loan) to everyone that ask of you. Don’t demand things that are taken from you. Pray for them. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Be good to the one that even treat you bad. Lend to others and don’t expect it back. We are expected to be merciful like our Father in Heaven. Don’t judge others if you are a sinner too. Be able to forgive other. Give and it shall be given unto you!
Please read the scriptures and be blessed!
