Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)
What would it be like to have absolute assurance that I would be cared for always? As a child, I remember singing the beloved hymn by Fannie J. Crosby, "Blessed Assurance," which includes the line "Jesus is Mine." I love that thought: Jesus is mine! I've always believed I am His, but to consider Jesus being mine is almost more than I can fathom. There are so many people out there who need Jesus, who yearn for His love and attention. But still, if I reach out to Him, He is mine.
Words from the third stanza speak to me: Perfect submission, all is at rest / I in my Savior am happy and blest / Watching and waiting, looking above / Filled with His goodness, lost in His love. I can think of no place I'd rather be than lost in His love. I want to spend more time resting in Jesus and His blessed assurance.
