PASTOR JOHNSON'S 1ST SUNDAY MESSAGE 11.3.2019

"ORDER MY STEPS IN YOUR WORD"

Pastor Johnson’s message came from 1 John 3:5-10; Psalm 15: 1-5; Proverbs 20:24, 1 Thessalonians 3:11-13, 1 Peter 2:21-25, and Psalm 119:99-105. The subject was ORDER MY STEPS IN YOUR WORK with the following subtopics:

“God is Light”

This is the message which we have heard from Him and now announce to you, that God is Light and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness of sin, we lie and do not practice the truth, but if we walk in the Light, as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we delude ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

“The Walk of a Zion Citizen”

O Lord, who may lodge in Your tent? Who may dwell on Your holy hill? He who walks with integrity and strength of character, and works righteousness, and speaks and holds truth in his heart. He does not slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend; in his eyes an evil person is despised, but he honors those who fear the Lord. He keeps his word even to his own disadvantage and does not change it; He does not put out his money at interest and does not take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken. Man’s steps are ordered and ordained by the Lord. How then can a man fully understand his way?

“Our Guide”

Now may our God and Father Himself, and Jesus our Lord guide our steps to you. And may the Lord cause you to increase and excel and overflow in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you; so that He may strengthen and establish your hearts without blame in holiness in the sight of our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints.

“Christ is Our Example”

For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you may follow in His footsteps. He committed no sin, nor was deceit ever found in His mouth. While being reviled and insulted, He did not revile or insult in return; while suffering, He made no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges fairly. He personally carried our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; for by His wounds you have been healed. For you were continually wandering like sheep, but now you have come back to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls. For the word of God is living and active and full of power making it operative, energizing, and effective. It is sharper than any two edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit, and of both joints and marrow, exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart. And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, and revealed to the eyes of Him with whom we have to give account.

“The Word Gives Understanding”

I have better understanding and deeper insight than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the aged, because I have observed and kept your precepts. I have restrained my feet from every evil way, that I may keep your word. I have not turned aside from your ordinances, for you yourself have taught me. How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! From your precepts I understand; therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.  Lord, please continue to order my steps in your word. Amen

PLEASE READ THE SCRIPTURES AND BE BLESSED!
