PASTOR JOHNSON'S 1ST SUNDAY MESSAGE 6.4.2017

Posted by: Shirley Smith on Tue, Jun 6, 2017

TOUCHED, CHANGED, HEALED

Pastor Johnson’s sermon came from Daniel 10:10-14, Matthew 3:7-10, and Isaiah 53:5-8. The topic was “Touched, Changed, Healed” with the following subtopics:

 “The Humble Me”

Daniel had a vision. An angel of God touched Daniel. He fell face down and was pulled up on his hand and knees. He humbled himself. We have to humble ourselves. Once you humble yourself before God, He will stand you up. Understand who God is. Daniel trembled because he understood the power of God. Set your heart on God, humble yourself and then hear his words. Sometimes Satan will put obstacles in your way. Daniel was touched by God.

“The New Me”

The Pharisees and Sadducees were like vipers in the church according to John. Judgement is already here. We do not have to worry if our hearts are right. We are to change from our old ways and turn away from your sins. We are to demonstrate a changed heart, new behavior, and make a conscious decision to turn away from sin. If you have not changed and bear fruit of repentance, you will be thrown into the fire.

“Because of Him”

Jesus was wounded for our sins and crushed for our wickedness. The punishment fell on Jesus. He was oppressed for us and did not say a word. He died for the sins we committed. By his stripes, we were healed.  I have been touched, changed, and because of Him, I have been healed and set free.

Romans 6:22-23 You have been set free from sin. You have been set aside for God use and in the end you will have eternal life.  The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life.

1 Corinthians 22-23 God’s words are not foolishness.

Please read the scriptures and be blessed!
